In our opinion, this is an advertising print, one offered by a company – without advertising – for coupons, box labels or ends, and often stamps. It has, to us, the look and feel of spool cotton and millinery advertisements from the 1880s – 1900 era, A young girl admires her hat in the mirror, as boys play outside her window. The boys are wearing red, white, and blue hats and appear to be playing badminton with red, white, and blue birds, or if you prefer, shuttlecocks. The picture on the wall shows people in different hats, perhaps representing their nationality. In the 1890s, new immigrants were often featured in advertising. About 11 x 7 7/8 x 1/8 inches
