A cold forged socket screw – the company signature product – repurposed as an advertising thermometer / paperweight. Parker-Kalon (P-K) was a pioneering American fastener company, founded in 1913, famous for developing the first self-threading screw for metal, revolutionizing fastening by eliminating the need for pre-tapped holes. Later, the company produced cold-forged socket screws – like the one being sold – used in iconic applications like the Spirit of St. Louis and WWII aircraft. The company later became part of Stanley Black & Decker and ceased manufacturing about 2013. About 3 7/8 x 2 1/8 diameter inches
