The Kodak camera was introduced in 1888. Shortly thereafter, a vaudeville troupe capitalized on the popularity of the name and product. The Kodak Has Them – A Bunch of Beats with the Noss Jollity Co, likely one of three acts – vignettes, here snapshots, of people. Advertised as – The Noss Jollity Company in their new Fantastic Buresque Musical Comedy The Kodak, by Mark E Swan. In Three Snap Shots. – in the December 30, 1894 Daily-Times Enterprise newspaper, Thomasville, Georgia. There is limited history of the Noss Jollity Co, a – likely co-ed – vaudeville troupe. According to one online source, The Kodak was performed in Philadelphia and was well-received: A bright and sparkling entertainment is announced for the Standard Theatre this week, when the Noss Jollity Company will present for the first time in this city their fantastic musical comedy, The Kodak [in Three Snap Shots]. As the title indicates, the play is a series of snap-shots at all sorts of people; queer, quaint and curious. The plot, though not featured, is more distinct than is usually found in a farce comedy, and tells a story that will appeal to all. As the review noted: [ It is a ] new fantastic musical comedy… as bright as a dollar fresh from the mint. Marked Donaldson Litho Cincinnati O. London center left. Undated. The visible image is about 29 H inches x 19 W inches, matted to 33 H inches x 22 3/4 W inches, and placed in a 36 H inches x 24 W inches poster frame. Because the poster is taped to the mat, we could not get an accurate measurement of the poster itself. We unframed the poster for photos.

Condition report:
There is a vertical tear 6 inch tear running NW - Se through the Da and A of Kodak and between Has and Them. There is a closed tear top upper left edge and two top upper right edge. Wrinkling consistent with being rolled. Spots of minor paper loss - abrasion. The banner affixed to the bottom of the poster with the theater and date of their performance is missing, paper residue remains. Unfortunately, ripping it off also resulted in some paper loss. The poster is taped to its mat. Please see the pictures.
