Chas. F. Maier was a St. Louis photographer active in the 1880s. This is likely an advertisement for his studio; a family picture would have a blank back. He was known for studio portraits. His studio was located at 1406 So Broadway, St Louis, MO. Undated, however, post-1870 when Carondelet, a separate village, became part of St Louis and Carondelet Avenue became South Broadway. This is a photo of a mother and daughter – our opinion – or bar maids, the consignor’s opinion ( as purchased ). About 6 1/2 x 4 1/4 x 1/8 inches
