Lot 180 Nyberg Automobile Works Radiator Temperature Gauge Boyce MotoMeter

Likely rare. A Nyberg Anderson Indiana – Nyberg Automobile Works – temperature gauge aka MotoMeter. While the manufacturer of this temperature gauge is not identified on the case, it is contructed like an early Boyce MotoMeter. We believe that Boyce manufactured this temperature gauge because the back of the front panel is the same as that of the Nash clearly identified Boyce MotoMeter we are selling. Based upon the history of Nyberg Automobile Works, this temperature gauge was manufactured between 1911 and 1914. Sold as non-working and for display only; we have no means of testing the device. History: Nyberg Automobile Works was founded in 1899 (likely in Kenosha Wisconsin), moved to Chicago in 1903, and incorporated as Nyberg Automobile Works, Inc. in 1907. Henry Nyberg and investors purchased the Rider-Lewis Motor Car Company factory and equipment, from the receiver (bankruptcy), in Anderson Indiana in 1911 and began production of Nyberg cards. Operations in Anderson Indiana ceased in 1914. About 5 x 2 7/8 x 1 1/4 inches
