Everything Hinges on Hager on the exterior, perhaps an older sales slogan. Lift the side and it shows: Hager Hinge Co St. Louis MO. History: The company is 170 years and 6 generations young, still private, owned and run by the family. Charles Hager, a German Immigrant, arrived in St Louis. Online resources differ as to whether he took a job with a blacksmith or bought a blacksmith shop. By 1878, the company was known as C. Hager and Sons Hinge Manufacturing Company. In 1894, Hager started making hinges for wood beer cases for Budweiser. In 1904, President Roosevelt started construction of the Panama Canal; Hager produced custom hinges for locks on the canal. C. Hager and Sons Hinge Company became Hager Companies and, today, sells door hardware and electronic access control products worldwide ( only through distributors ). About 2 3/4 x 6 x 2 1/2 inches.
